Earth Hour, a WWF initiative where homes and businesses turn their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change, enters its third year on 27th March. Last year over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the movement.
The Samarthan club of IFMR B-School is observing Earth Hour at the campus through a series of events to mark the occasion.
Earth Hour: 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM Local Time, Saturday, 27 March 2010.

With a drive to work towards the welfare of the needy and deprived, Samarthan, the social service club of IFMR B-School, has been actively involved in various social causes like blood donation, free eye camps, awareness meets etc.
On November 29th, 2009, Samarthan is organizing the second edition of “Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav” at the IFMR Campus. The event started last year in the memory of an IFMR Student, Lakshmi Iyer Appu, brings together children from NGO’s to have a day filled with learning, enjoyment and smile through contests and activities.
